Schat-Harding Calling For Clear Technical Standards
December 10, 1999
Safety specialist Schat-Harding has asked for concise technical standards to back the new IMO life saving regulations, per the company's newsletter, Escape. Ian Machlin, engineering manager of Schat-Harding, states, "We see the disasters, so we also see clearly that we have to work hard to ensure the technical standards backing regulations are properly thought out, interpreted unambiguously and implemented world-wide."
Machlin also stressed upon the work that must be accomplished for implementation of the Life Saving Appliances Code, which was mandated on July 1, 1998.
