PIRIOU Secures Order for 26-meter WFSV

Shipbuilder PIRIOU in Vietnam has received an order for the BMT Nigel Gee designed wind farm support vessel (WFSV).
The vessel, Ocean Wind 8 of Hartlepool, will be delivered to AIS (Marine) 2 Limited at the end of March 2015 for operations in the North Sea.

The vessel has completed sea trails, achieving 31 knots with 8 metric tons DWT, the designer reported.
Ocean Wind 8 of Hartlepool is 27 meters long with a beam of 8 meters, utilizes BMT’s catamaran hull form and is fitted with Hamilton Waterjets propelled by by 2 x MAN diesel engines. The vessel is MCA category 1 and is certified by Bureau Veritas capable of carrying 12 passengers and three crew members.
