Ocean Common Carrier Status of Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping Company
July 10, 2002
The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) issued a notice stating that it has served an Order of Investigation and Hearing, a Request for
Additional Information, and an Order to Show Cause on Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping Company and Sinotrans Container Lines Co. Ltd. The two companies filed a cross space charter and sailing agreement, but there are indications that the former company does not currently operate vessels in the trade for which it has published a tariff. The effective date of the agreement has
been delayed while the matter is investigated.
