S. Korea Shipbuilders Predict Falling Sales

November 19, 2008

According to a Nov. 17 report from The Hankyoreh, in the face of the global financial crisis and the downdraft on China’s economy following the Beijing Olympics, South Korea’s top three companies in the fields of semiconductors, liquid crystal display, automobiles, shipbuilding and chemicals are predicting falling or flagging sales for the coming year.

Already in October, sales at some of the companies had declined and sales growth was expected to slow significantly in the fourth-quarter of the year.
