German Group Eyes Shipbuilding Investment

A group of German companies is exploring the possibility of setting up a shipbuilding and shipyard project in West Bengal with special emphasis at the port city of Haldia in East Midnapore district. Representing the group of companies and its desire to do business here, H & F Consultants GmbH and Company Managing Director Frithjof Hennemann today called on the Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee at the state secretariat here. Hennemann, who was accompanied by two officials, also told Bhattacharjee that they were keen on initiating a survey in this regard and were ready to make necessary investment for the purpose. Bhattacharjee welcomed the proposal and agreed to extend all cooperation to the German group.
