Amsterdam Will Host Event on Cost Management in Shipbuilding

April 10, 2012

Amsterdam and Gdansk, Poland, will host events on Cost Management in Shipbuilding. The Amsterdam event will be held May 24, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the event in Gdansk will take place June 14, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Intensifying competition in the shipbuilding industry has led to enormous cost pressure. Since the main part of costs is fixed at the start of production, cost management in the early shipbuilding phases is especially effective. The event will offer the opportunity to learn about methods and systems supporting cost planning, cost analyzing and cost reduction in the process of naval engineering.

Topics will include cost prognosis, including regression functions; and risk analysis of cost estimations;  target costing: analysis of product functions and customer requirements; methods of life cycle costing; and software support by the cost-fact system

Details on the event, including agenda and registration, can be found at www.costfact.de/event-amsterdam.php and www.costfact.de/event-gdansk.php.
