Korea Times Says China to Overtake Korea in Shipbuilding

A Nov. 28 report from The Korea Times cited London-based market researcher Clarkson Research as saying that South Korea completed shipbuilding of 13.36 million compensated gross tons in the first 10 months of this year, or 31.8 percent of the global total. In contrast, according to the report, China's shipbuilding volume reached 14.81 million CGTs, 35.3 percent of the world's total ships completed and delivered during the January-October period.
