New MD for Damen Shiprepair, Brest

Mr Jos Goris is to take up the post of managing director for Damen Shiprepair Brest (DSB) in Brest, France

Mr Goris succeeds Mr André Hollander, who managed the yard (formerly known as Sobrena) from the time when Damen Shipyards Group took over its operations three months ago.

Damen Shiprepair Brest employs 210 workers and operates 3 large graven dry docks of which the largest measures 420 m x 80 m.

Mr Goris has vast experience in shiprepair & conversion and has been the Managing Director of Damen Shiprepair Götaverken (DSGö) in Sweden, which he has integrated in the Damen Shipyards Group. 


LNG carriers, VLCCs and Offshore vessels will be an important part of DSB’s business. Mr Goris says: “We will differentiate ourselves on Safety Culture, Project Management and of course the quality of our work.
