Todd Shipyards to Perform Overhaul

Todd Pacific Shipyards Corp. received a $29 million contract from the Washington State Ferry Systems for the overhaul of its ferry M/V Yakima.
The overhaul encompasses replacement of most of the lower vehicle deck; installation of the vessel's new furniture and fixtures; removal and reinstallation of propulsion motors, main diesel engines and propulsion generators.
The work, which began upon the vessel's arrival at the shipyard on October 22, is expected to last 15 months.
