Data Link Solutions Wins Navy Comm Deal

Data Link Solutions* (a limited liability company comprising of Rockwell Collins and BAE Systems), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being awarded a $15,424,248 contract for the Multifunctional Information Distribution System On Ship System (MOS) production contract. The MOS provides secure, high capacity, jam resistant, digital Link-16 data and voice communications capability for U.S. Navy ships. A downward contract price adjustment is available through Feb. 28, 2003, for additional quantities that may be added. This contract includes an option which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $16,190,498. Work will be performed in Wayne, N.J. (50%), and Cedar Rapids, Iowa (50%), and is to be completed in April 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was awarded on a sole source basis with one proposal solicited and one offer received via the Federal Business Opportunities web site. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N00039-03-C-0008).
