Thuraya Displays Full Suite of Satellite Telecom Solutions at Malaysian Defense Show.

Commercial satellite communications is increasingly becoming an essential tool for government users as the need to dispatch crucial information rapidly, reliably and securely is fundamental to coordinating command and control. Requirements for high data speeds, highly portable and versatile data terminals as well as reliable handheld phones continue to grow in demand within the military sector. Thuraya’s DefenceComms solutions include the world’s smallest satellite broadband terminal to support 384 Kbps streaming, Thuraya IP, as well as the only satellite handheld with full walk and talk capabilities, Thuraya XT, a narrowband aeronautical solution that is the smallest in the market, Thuraya NettedComms, the MarineNet Pro maritime broadband solution, Seagull 5000i and a Comms-on-the-Move antenna.

For Navy Officers, on display at the Thuraya stand will be the soon to be launched MarineNet Pro, an ideal maritime broadband solution which provides data speeds up to 444 Kbps as well as streaming speeds up to 384 Kbps while at sea. Also on show for the maritime sector is the Seagull 5000i which is a cost-effective solution that provides voice, data, SMS and fax services based exclusively on Thuraya’s satellite network.

Thuraya will be exhibiting its pioneered NettedComms solution based on Thuraya IP which integrates different communications technologies into a single closed user group. This service allows for the interconnection of individuals using different communication networks, such as  Thuraya IP, Thuraya handheld phones, public switch telephone networks, GSM systems, and radio systems, in order to provide government users  a powerful communications solution.
