Klüber Debuts Specialty Lubricant

September 23, 2011

Klüber Lubrication introduces Klübersynth MR 96-31, a special dynamically light grease, utilizing a polyalkylene glycol base oil and a unique mix of solid substances. The lubricant reduces vibration, dampens noise and enables smooth motion of many different plastic materials. It is also compatible with elastomers and plastics over a wide range of temperatures, -40°C to 120°C. In particular, Klübersynth MR 96-31 was developed to reduce friction in material pairs involving critical, non-polar polymers such as PP or PE, and elastomers such as EPDM. The lubricant is also compatible with POM (homo- and copolymers), PBT or PA 6.6. Today's new window and door systems manufactured from Polypropylene are ideal candidates for the Klübersynth MR 96-31. The grease is water-resistant and helps protect against copper corrosion. Klübersynth MR 96-31 can also be used in slideways and casings made of non-polar and amorphous polymers with a low degree of crystallization. Other applications include vehicle brakes, electric parking brakes and small gears.
