StatoilHydro and Kongsberg Maritime Join Forces

April 22, 2008

StatoilHydro and Kongsberg Maritime have made a general agreement for the operation of automation and security systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime onboard StatoilHydro's installations in the . The agreement has a duration of 2 years and covers Statfjord A, B & C and the platforms at Haltenbanken.
The agreement secures that StatoilHydro has access to the necessary resources and technology for optimal operations of the extensive Kongsberg Maritime process control & automation equipment systems installed on the platforms in addition to covering any marine equipment installed, such as ballasting systems.
One important aspect of the agreement is to run as much of the work as possible onshore in order to reduce the number of trips offshore, therefore reducing costs and logistical issues for StatoilHydro's service operations. This is made possible with the further development of integrated operations (IO), which ensures the close collaboration of suppliers to improve the safety and operational efficiency of offshore platforms.
