Wynn Dual Wiper System to Debut on New Ferry

October 29, 2002

Wynn Marine has designed a new one motor, dual window wiper system for a new ferry being built for the Shetland Islands Council. Filla is the second of a pair of vessels out of the Northern Shipyards, Gdansk, Poland and is due for delivery in April 2003. The first vessel, Linga has already been launched. Wynn will supply 11 specially adapted Type C wipers for installation on the vessel, which will encounter a host of extreme conditions during its service around the Shetland Islands, making a clear view one of the top priorities in the design stages. The adapted wipers will be able to clean two windows by using just one motor. This system is not only more efficient in terms of window wiping, but also more cost effective to the shipyard, and the owners. “We are always looking for new ways in which to benefit our customers,” says Tony Parker, Sales Manager at Wynn. “We have designed this new one motor, two window system around our tried and tested Type C wiper system, making it not only extremely reliable and hard-wearing, but also great value for money,” added Parker.
