NAT Adds Two More Tankers

October 29, 2015

Nordic American Tankers Limited (NAT) has taken delivery of the second of two Suexmax tankers recently purchased secondhand.
The shipper announced in July that it had entered an agreement to acquire two 2010-built ships for delivery in September and October 2015. The first of these two ships, the Nordic Light, was delivered September 22, and the second was taken over today, October 29.
Following the delivery of the second ship, renamed Nordic Cross, NAT’s fleet will stand at 26 Suezmax vessels, including two newbuildings scheduled for respective deliveries in the third quarter of 2016 and in early 2017.
NAT said its Suezmaxes fleet “has a substantial earnings potential,” and that the company seeks to increase its dividend and earnings capacity through further expansion going forward.
