Iran to Launch two 35,000-ton Tankers

Concurrent with the launching of its first domestically made ocean-going ship, Iran is also planning to soon launch two 35,000-ton oil tankers being assembled in this major Persian Gulf country. About $8m has been invested in the building of the two tankers, said an official at Fara Sahel Shipbuilding Co. Some 50 percent of the parts used in the oil tankers have been supplied by foreign part producing companies he also stated adding, it was estimated that about $40m would be needed to be invested in manufacturing each one of the vessels.
