Tidewater Reports 2Q Results

Tidewater reported second-quarter earnings of $104.2 million, or $1.86 per share, up from a year-ago profit of $82.2 million, or $1.42 per share. The latest results included a gain of $17.2 million, or 31 cents a share, related to an asset sale. Revenue rose in three months ended Sept. 30 to $274 million from $204.4 million in the same period a year earlier. The average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson First Call was for a profit of $1.32 a share in the September period. Shares of the New Orleans-based oil and gas exploration vessel operator closed Tuesday at $46.88, up 4%. Source: Marketwatch
