Coast Guard Towing INSIKO To Oahu

The derelict freighter Insiko will be towed to Oahu in order to remove the fuel and deceased crewmember. The commanding officer, Coast Guard Marine Safety Office Honolulu, Gilbert Kanazawa, made the decision after learning of the vessel’s better than anticipated condition.
The Insiko will be moored at Barbers Point Harbor for lightering of the fuel. It will take five days for the American Quest to tow the Insiko to Oahu.
