Saab TransponderTech Wins Order For AIS

Saab TransponderTech, Solna Sweden has been awarded a contract for an AIS transponder System to the Shetland Islands. The AIS system comprises two Base Stations to be integrated into the already exsiting Norcontrol IT VTS Centre in Sullom Voe. Saab Transpondertech is the main contractor and is responsible for delivery of equipment as well as integration and commissioning. The system meets the internationally adopted AIS Standard ITU 1371-1.
