Angola Places Order for Transport Vessel

Angola has placed an order to Francisco Cardama shipyard in Vigo, Spain for the construction of a cargo and heavy vehicles transport ship to connect Luanda and Cabinda.  

Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos has issued an order for the construction of a cargo and heavy vehicles transport ship to connect Luanda and Cabinda. The construction of the ship will be undertaken in Francisco Cardama shipyard in Vigo, Spain.
The ship will ensure the transport of containers, general cargo, trucks and trailers in the sea link between Luanda, Soyo and Cabinda. Cabinda province is an enclave located around 60 kilometers from the rest of Angola and direct links are only possible by sea and air.
A similar order was placed for a “ferry” from Dutch shipyard Damen in the last week, for 13 million euros, for the same connection to Cabinda.
