April 24, 2003
Bechtel National Inc. completed an audit of Unidynamics’ Quality Assurance system to insure Unidynamics’ quality systems meet ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements. Ray Smith, Director of Quality Assurance, led Unidynamics' internal audit team. This successful audit confirmed that Unidynamics’ has a quality system consistent with NQA-1 and that Unidynamics is qualified to provide systems and equipment for nuclear applications. NQA-1 quality requirements are similar and consistent with Unidynamics’ existing MIL-Q-9858A and MIL-I-45208A quality systems. This, along with recent contract awards substantiates Unidynamics’ move into the nuclear handling market to provide specialized, highly reliable handling, positioning, transport and shielding equipment and systems. With over 75 years’ experience in highly specialized systems in marine, naval, offshore, submarine and other hazardous applications; this is a natural expansion of these capabilities.
