Vessels Built in Private Mexican Yard

After more than 20 years without a ship built in private Mexican shipyards, Blue Marine introduced two quick intervention provider ships which have been fully constructed in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, with the latest technology. Blue Marine, with an investment exceeding $160m, became the only Mexican shipping company that builds offshore boats in México.

This deep Mexican root is also transmitted in the boats names, Aramara and Lluavi, two Huichol words in Spanish translates as “place of where our ancestors sail” and “blue.” In addition, both ships will have the Mexican flag.

The Aramara and Lluavi are part of the plan for renovation and modernization of the fleet of Pemex Exploration and Production, these vessels may provide support for platforms in the most remote from the base ports: “The trust that PEMEX has placed in us has been crucial for boosting the country's shipping industry, especially in a crisis like the one we are living” said Juan Reynoso, CEO of Blue Marine, he believes that building boats in Mexico will have great benefits for all Mexicans, “We will have more efficient, safe and friendly environment boats, facilitating greater efficiency in operations, significantly reduce risks and generate maritime industry and jobs, in the two vessels have worked for more than one year 160 people” he explained.

Aramara and Lluavi have aluminum hulls, which provide greater security to the integrity of the platforms during the approach maneuvers. Both ships will be 170.6 ft in length, unlike the 98.4 ft average in such craft, and more capacity to carry up to 200 t, 80 more than most. Additionally, as this newly built vessels, comply with the latest regulations on Safety and Environmental Protection.
