$10.7M USS George Washington Contract

Earl Industries, Portsmouth, Va., is being awarded a $10,257,000
fixed-price contract for the Planned Incremental Availability of
the USS George Washington. Work will be performed in
Portsmouth, Va., and is to be completed by August 2003.
Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal
year. The contract was competitively procured via the Internet,
with 12 proposals solicited and two offers received. The
Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, U.S. Navy,
Portsmouth is the contracting activity (N62678-03-C-3020).
