Water Needs Exceeded with FCI Watermakers Posideon+

November 6, 2017

FCI Watermakers' high-output Poseidon+ exceeds the average water needs of a commercial vessel. Designed to run 24/7 with low maintenance overhead and costs, it reliably produces 54–103m3/14,265–27,210 gallons of pure, fresh water every day.

The Poseidon+ is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of a commercial marine application. Engineered and built in the U.S., it boasts a continuous-duty direct drive motor gearbox—there are no belts to maintain or replace—and a stainless steel high-pressure pump. Heavy-duty NEMA 4V automated control valves with manual overrides ensure dependable water production.

FCI Watermakers' next-generation V4 controller communicates via a MODBUS protocol. Using the 7" marine-grade Bridge Classified touchscreen display's intuitive menus and controls, the Poseidon+ is easily programed and operated. Mounted in a Class I Div II 316 stainless steel NEMA 4X Electrical enclosure, type approval certifications are from ABS, GL, Lloyd's Register EMEA, Det Norske Veritas and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Turbidity and varying salinity common in many parts of the world are no match for the Poseidon+. It has a strainer to remove large particles, a pre-filter with 240 sq. ft. of total area and pressure differential monitoring and alarming, and a media tank that filters incoming water down to 20 μm and removes up to 4 ppm of iron.

The Poseidon+ is frame-mounted in a powder-coated aluminum skid with pipe supports. Straight-forward to install, forklift slots are provided and all connections are outboard-mounted.

All FCI Watermakers products use only low-cost, non-proprietary parts and disposables—a significant consideration for vessels that travel internationally. Combined with a worldwide network of authorized dealers and distributors, the Poseidon+ is a sound choice for any commercial marine application.
