Globe Wireless Granted Japan License

Globe Wireless Granted Blanket Wireless Radio Station License by the Japanese Ministry of Information and Communications.


Globe Wireless, a  leading provider of communications, operational and IT solutions to the maritime industry, today announced it has been granted a Blanket Wireless Radio Station License by the Japanese Ministry of Information and Communications. This license authorizes Globe Wireless to offer Inmarsat FleetBroadband mobile satellite communications services in Japan and on Japanese registered vessels.


Inmarsat FleetBroadband provides simultaneous, high speed data and voice connectivity anywhere in the world.  FleetBroadband from Globe Wireless provides ships with email, Internet, voice and GSM communications, enhancing operational performance and crew welfare. The license is effective from September 29th, 2011, confirming Globe Wireless’ commitment to expanding its range of products and growth opportunities throughout Asia.
