Kooiman to Build Workboat for HvSDS

Shipyard Kooiman BV in Zwijndrecht has been contracted to supply a new multipurpose DP2  support vessel to customer HvS Dredging Support BV in Harlingen, the shipbuilder announced.
According to Kooiman, close cooperation with HvSDS has led to “a number of important creative solutions” for development and implementation aboard the new vessel, Zwerver II.

The ship is equipped with DP2, four-point mooring, crane of 510 Tm with an active heave compensated winch, a conventional crane of 370 Tm. Further, a passive heave compensated gangway will be installed to transfer personnel to windmills and platforms. The bollard pull of the vessel will be approximately 65 T, which is exceptional considering the draft is only 2.7m.

The Zwerver II will be designed and built under Bureau Veritas class and will operate under Dutch flag.
The vessel, scheduled for spring 2016 delivery, will be employed mainly in the offshore and renewables market for services such as dredging support, anchor handling, cable laying, cable covering, diving support and ROV-support, as well as others. 
The accommodation will be MLC certified and is suitable for 14 persons. This number can be increased up to 18 persons by involving available accommodation containers. This way, in addition to the vessel’s crew, 12 men specialized personnel can work and stay on the vessel.
