Zamakona to Build Tug for HPC

Haifa Port contracts 70 t Voith Tug with Zamakona Yards

Haifa Port Company (HPC) has awarded the international tender for a new build Voith Schneider tug to Zamakona Yards.

HPC has tendered a tug which is a sister vessel of the ones already operating in the harbor. The tug has 70 t bollard pull and 31,50 m length by 12,50 m beam. The design has been done by Voith Design, optimizing the hull shape and including some improvements required by the Client. Classification will be Loyd’s Register, and the notation includes also FIFI 1 with water spay.

The tug is equipped with two Voith 32R5 propulsion units coupled to two MAN main engines 8L27/38 developing each 2,670 kW.

For towage purposes the aft deck is fitted with a towing hook and a towage winch from Hatlapa.
