Algerian traders claim that Algeria has bought around 500,000 tonnes of durum at the tender.

European traders reported on Wednesday that Algeria's state grain agency, OAIC, is believed to have bought between 500,000 and 550 000 metric tons durum wheat at an international auction held Tuesday.

For larger panamax shipments, the?purchase price is understood to be around $315 per ton cost and shipping (c&s). Some?traders said that the price paid for smaller handymax shipments was $323-$324 per ton cost and freight (c&f), while others estimated it at $325.

Shipping was requested in four periods between February 1-15, 16-28 February, 1-15 March and 16-31.

Algeria does not disclose the results of their tenders and results reported are based on trader assessment. Later, more detailed estimates on?prices' and?volumes' are possible.
