At least 14 people killed after migrant boat crashes with coast guard vessel in southern Turkey
The coast guard said that at least '14 people were killed on Monday when an inflatable boat carrying migrants smashed into a Turkish Coast Guard vessel near Antalya in southern Turkey.
The 'coast guard' said that the high-speed vessel?was detected on Monday morning off the coast of the Finike district in?Antalya. It also stated that the boat tried to escape the coast guard, despite being repeatedly warned to stop. The statement added that it?later collided a coastguard vessel.
The report said that six migrants and a Turkish national were saved, but 14 were found dead. 15 other people were captured after they continued in their boat until they reached land. Tuvan Gumrukcu, Daren Butler and Aidan Lewis edited the report.
