Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 5, 2025

European traders reported on Wednesday that Bangladesh's state grain buyer has released another international tender for the purchase of 50,000 metric tonnes of rice.

The deadline to submit price offers is the 20th of November.

Bangladesh also released a separate tender for 50,000 tons rice, with offers due on November 13. Another tender closed on November 3,

In recent months, the government of Bangladesh has held a number of tenders for rice to increase supplies. In Bangladesh, domestic rice prices have increased by about 15% in the last year despite an excellent harvest.

The new tender is again seeking price offers for nonbasmati parboiled risotto in CIF terms liner-out, which include ship unloading fees for the seller. Prices must be valid until December 4, 2018.

The contract specifies that the shipment must be made to Chittagong or Mongla within 40 days of the award.

Rice can be imported from anywhere in the world, except Israel. Michael Hogan (reporting, editing)
