Bangladesh bids again for 50,000 tons of rice, traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 3, 2025

European traders reported on Monday that Bangladesh's state grain buyer has announced a new international tender for the purchase of 50,000 metric tonnes of rice.

November 13 is the deadline for price offers.

Bangladesh has also released a separate tender for 50,000 tons rice. Price offers are due on Monday, Nov. 3.

In recent months, the Bangladesh government issued a number of tenders for rice to increase supplies. The domestic rice price in Bangladesh has risen by about 15% since last year, despite a great harvest.

This new tender is seeking price offers on non-basmati parboiled risotto in CIF terms (liner out), which include ship unloading charges for the seller. Prices must be valid until November 27, 2018.

The contract specifies that the shipment must be made to Chittagong or Mongla within 40 days of award.
