Brady's power boating team wins back-to-back E1 World titles in Miami
Tom Brady's Team Brady won the E1 World Championship for a second time in a row on Saturday, after holding off Rafael Nadal and Team Rafa's late challenge at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix.
Sam Coleman, a British pilot, and Emma Kimilainen from Finland led the "Championship of the Water", an all-electric series that spanned four continents. They won the final race in 2025 to win the title for Brady's seven-time Super Bowl-winning team.
Brady stated, "I could not be more proud of Team Brady's two consecutive E1 World Championships."
"Sport is all about resilience, consistency, and strength -- the same mentality that drives us each day on the boat. Two championships do not just happen. "They're earned by relentless effort, total dedication and believing in each other."
After a tight qualifying session, Team Rafa's team was able to close the gap by two points.
Coleman and Kimilainen delivered a dominant display in the final. They won by 15 seconds, securing the title.
"I am so proud of my team." Kimilainen stated that the calls, strategies and everything else went very well today. It was good to see that we had learned from our earlier mistakes and were able to use them.
Team Rafa's second place in Miami confirms its overall victory. Blue Rising finished third, ahead of Aoki Racing. Will Smith's Westbrook Racing rounded out the top five.
E1 founder Alejandro Agag stated that the Miami race was a landmark for the young championship.
He said, "Congratulations on our amazing 2025 Champions, Team Brady. They fought for the title right up to the end."
"Our first U.S. Race in Miami is a landmark as E1 continues gaining momentum and winning new fans for this dramatic sport."
Brady, who bought an E1 team two years ago and told the audience that the growth of the series had strengthened his commitment, said this ahead of the final.
He said, "It is fun to see how the team works together and I am excited that we are on top." (Reporting by Janina Nuno Rios in Mexico City; Editing by Ken Ferris)
