China's foreign ministry warned on Tuesday that the U.S. blockade against?Iranian ports?is 'dangerous and reckless,' adding that it will only escalate tensions.

Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, said that the United States, despite a temporary truce agreed upon by the parties, had "increased their military deployments" and imposed a "targeted blockade", a move which he claimed would exacerbate the conflict, undermine the fragile ceasefire and further threaten the safety of navigation in the strait.

China has urged 'all parties to respect ceasefires, to stay committed to dialogue and peace talks and to take 'practical steps to reduce regional tensions, and to restore normal passage in the strait, as soon as they can, said Guo.
