CMA CGM's Galapagos container vessel leaves Strait of Hormuz

Posted to Maritime Reporter on June 28, 2026

CMA CGM said that its Galapagos container ship left the 'Strait of Hormuz' on Sunday.

Washington and Tehran both accuse the other of violating the agreement.

CMA CGM released a statement saying that "this crossing marks an important landmark in a region context which remains complex and demands constant vigilance."

The ship's captain declined to comment on the circumstances of the vessel's departure from the strait.

CMA CGM has said that it still has 10 ships in the Gulf. These have been there since the start of the war. (Reporting and writing by Gus Trompiz, editing by Andrew Heavens).
