French Foreign Minister: Lebanon must be included in ceasefire agreement
French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot stated on Thursday that the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States should also cover military actions in Lebanon. He added that France had condemned Israel's "massive strikes" of Wednesday.
Barrot said that he expected Iran to make a number of concessions as part of the peace negotiations due to begin in Pakistan.
In an interview with Radio Station France Inter, he stated that Iran must stop having nuclear weapons, and the means to acquire them. It also needs to stop using missiles and drones to threaten other countries in the area, and to stop supporting groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas, which destabilizes the region.
He said that Iran should also "open traffic" in the Strait of Hormuz. (Reporting and editing by Susan Fenton; Inti Landauro)
