The SailGP 'Championship' will include the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix in 2026, the racing circuit announced on Tuesday, after Lake Geneva made its debut last season.

Geneva will replace Saint-Tropez on the 2026 Season Calendar, and the race is scheduled for September 19-20. It's the last destination in Europe before the season-defining doubleheader in the UAE.

In a press release, SailGP CEO Sir Russell Coutts stated that "returning to Geneva is an important moment for SailGP and our fans as we continue establishing a consistent calendar of events in some of the most iconic destinations around the globe."

In 2025, Switzerland Sail Grand Prix will be one of the most popular outdoor sporting events in the city - and it'll be the largest event ever held on Lake Geneva."

The?winner of last year's championship, Britain, won the event in September. Germany, on the other hand, claimed its first-ever event win at the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.

Sebastien Schneiter of the Switzerland SailGP Team said, "We are?proud that we have another chance to race in front?our home audience, and fight for victory this year." (Reporting and editing by Toby Davis).
