A man arrested in Scotland last week on suspicion of trying to enter Britain's nuclear sub base has been released pending further investigations, Scottish prosecutors announced Monday.

A 34-year old man and a 31 year-old Romanian woman were arrested together on Thursday after Police Scotland described them as two people attempting?to enter HM Naval Base Clyde located on the 'west coast of Scotland.

Police Scotland said on Saturday that the pair was due to appear in Dumbarton Sheriff Court Monday.

In a statement, Scotland's public prosecution service stated that they had decided that "there would be no proceedings" brought against the woman of 31 years old, but reserved the right to do so if more evidence was found.

The statement said that the man, 34 years old, had been "liberated" from custody while further investigations were conducted. He also did not appear before a court.

Three weeks into the U.S. and Israeli war against Iran, their arrest came. Although Britain did not take part in the attack on Iran, its forces downed Iranian drones and missiles in the Gulf region.

HM Naval Base 'Clyde' is crucial to 'Britain's Security, as it hosts the country's attack submarine fleet and its nuclear-armed subs. Sam Tobin is the reporter. Andrew MacAskill edited the article.
