Jordan purchases 60,000 metric tonnes wheat in tender, traders claim
In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 60,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from optional origins.
They said that it was estimated to have been purchased from Bulgarian Trading House Buildcom for an estimated cost and freight included of $255.50 per ton (c&f), with shipment scheduled to take place in the second half September.
The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.
The following trading companies also participated in the tender on Tuesday, according to traders, with their offers for a ton of c&f per company: CHS $251.90, Cargill $255.90, Al Dahra $266.6, Ameropa 262.45 and Agrocorp 268.50.
Traders said that no new wheat tender will be announced by Jordan this week.
On Wednesday, a separate tender to buy up to 120,00 tons of animal feed barley will close. Michael Hogan is the reporter. Mark Potter (Editing)
