A Maldives government spokesperson said that the 'bodies' of two Italian divers who died in a scuba-diving accident have been recovered. Meanwhile, efforts are continuing to recover the remains of another two Italian divers.

The five divers entered a deepwater cavern last week. The remains of their instructor, who was one of the five divers in the group, were recovered last Friday. After a team of Finnish specialists - who had joined the effort this week – helped bring the bodies to the surface, Maldivian and police divers also assisted.

He said that while the identities of the bodies haven't been confirmed, they are both male and female.

Monica Montefalcone was the leader of a group of divers who entered a cave in 'Maldivian waters', which is located in the Indian Ocean. Her daughter was also part of this group. The Maldivian authorities have begun investigating multiple factors that could be behind this accident, which is the deadliest diving incident in country's history.
