Official: UK will convene further talks on Strait of Hormuz Strait next week
A British official who was aware of the discussions said that Britain would convene the latest round of talks next week with its allies to discuss a way to open up the Strait of Hormuz for shipping without paying tolls to Iran.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that officials from the British Foreign Ministry?were due?to?meet counterparts?from?countries that took part in discussions led by UK foreign secretary Yvette Cooper on April 2.
The official stated that the discussions would include a coordinated economic and political measure, including possible sanctions, and ways to secure the release thousands of'ships and sailors trapped in the Strait. (Reporting and writing by Elizabeth Piper)
