Panama Canal revenue to reach $5.7 billion in FY2025, up 19%
In a Wednesday statement, the Panama Canal reported that revenues in fiscal year 2025 rose by 14.4% to $5.7 billion based on unaudited preliminary figures.
The Canal also reported that vessel traffic increased by 19.3% on an annual basis to 13,404 in the 12-month period ending September 30.
The container and liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), segments drove revenue growth while bulk carrier traffic continued its recovery. The statement stated that Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), volumes were lower than expected due to the global freight market conditions.
Authorities stated that the results put the canal in an excellent financial position, ahead of the planned investments to increase capacity and maintain its competitiveness starting in 2026. (Reporting and writing by Elida Moreno; editing by Kyry Madry).
