Posted to Maritime Reporter on July 5, 2026

'Qatar announced on 'Sunday, that maritime activities will re-start with 'immediate effect.

The advisory of June 29th had called for?the suspension of fishing and sailing boats until further notice. Commercial shipping, however, was exempted.

On Sunday, the ministry urged all maritime vessel operators and users to "abide by the maritime regulations and instruction in effect to ensure the highest level of safety and security on?all trips".

Qatar didn't give a reason for the June 29th measure. However, it did do so a day after it announced that one of its nationals was killed by shrapnel after suffering injuries due to "military activities in the region" following a disappearance of his vessel.
