As Ukrainian strikes on Russia's refineries, energy infrastructure and other facilities continue, the Russian government announced on Monday that it has banned exports of aviation fuel until November 30.

Russia exports jet-fuel mainly via rail to Central Asia including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The government said that the purpose of this decision was to ensure stability on the domestic fuel markets.

Interfax reported last week about measures being considered to restrict diesel exports.

Data showed that diesel production in Russia dropped?by about 10% in May. This was on top of a 10% drop in April, when Ukrainian drone attacks on refineries caused them to reduce, or even halt, their output. Reporting and Editing by Guy Faulconbridge & David Goodman
