SailGP final to be contested by Britain, NZ, and Australia

Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 30, 2025

On Sunday, Britain, New Zealand, and Australia made it to the $2 million SailGP championship grand final, while Spain, a defensive team, narrowly missed out.

After racing in the final event of SailGP 2025's season, the trio secured their place in the winner-takes all final.

The Flying Roos will try to reclaim the silverware that Spain took in 2024.

Los Gallos had a chance to make the final of this year's event in Abu Dhabi, but fierce battles with the Australians during the fleet races have left them behind in the overall rankings. (Reporting and editing by Ed Osmond; Alexander Smith)
