Senior Iranian official: There are still significant differences between Iran and the US, including in nuclear issues
A senior Iranian official said on Friday that there are still significant differences between Iran and the United States in order to reach an agreement to end the 'war.' He added that the U.S. must adhere to the ceasefire terms if it wants to keep the Strait of Hormuz opened.
An anonymous official said that "no agreement had been reached on details of the nuclear issues" and that serious negotiations are needed to overcome differences.
He said that Tehran was hopeful of a preliminary deal being reached with Pakistan as a mediator in the next few days, and the possibility to extend the ceasefire "to create space for further talks on the?lifting of sanctions against Iran and securing compensation for war damages".
He said that any other "narrative" about the ongoing talks is a misrepresentation.
