Source: Iran releases Greek-managed tanks seized in January 2024
Iran has ?released ?the Greek-owned, Marshall-Islands-flagged tanker MT St. Nikolas it seized in the Gulf of Oman in January 2024, a ?company source told on Tuesday.
Source: The vessel was released on 8th January and has been at Shinas Port in Oman since 12th January with 13 crew members on board.
When it was taken, M/T St. Nikolas had 1 million barrels Iraqi crude oil bound for Turkey. The oil cargo of the vessel was released in July 2024.
Iranian state media reported that Iran had seized the St. Nikolas as a retaliation to the United States' seizure?in 2023?of?the St. Nikolas and its oil. Reporting by Renee Maltezou, Editing by Aidan Lewis
