South Korea purchased approximately 11,110 tons of US rice as part of a tender aiming for 74,382 tonnes

Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation, a?state-owned company in South Korea. European traders reported that on Monday, they had purchased 11,110 metric tons of 'rice' 'expected to be sourced from United States. The other volumes sought in the international tender were not purchased, they said.

They said that the rice purchased was non-glutinous medium grain brown rice, which cost $820.91 (cost and freight included). The rice was purchased in two equal shipments for arrival in Korea from August 15 to October 31 2026.

The company regularly takes'several weeks' to award tenders and often requests that samples are sent to Korea for testing.
