South Korea's MFG bids up to 210,000 tonnes corn, traders claim

The South Korean Major 'Feedmill Group (MFG), a group of traders in Europe, said that the MFG has announced an international tender for up to 210,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn.

The deadline to submit price bids in the tender is January 9, 2019. The initial estimate of the total requested by traders was 140,000 tonnes.

Three consignments of corn are expected to arrive in South Korea in April.

The seller can choose the quantity of each consignment between 5,000-70,000?tons.

Shipping of a consignment to arrive in South Korea on April 15 was requested between March 7-26 if the shipment came from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast,?between February 15-6?from the U.S. Gulf coast,?between February 10-1?from South America or?between February 25-March 16?if it came from South Africa.

The second shipment for arrival on April 25 in South Korea is to be shipped between March 17 and April 5 if it comes from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast. It can also come from the U.S. Gulf between February 25 and March 16, from South America between February 20-March 11, or from South Africa between March 7-March 26.

The third shipment for arrival on 'April 30 in South Korea' was requested between March 22 and April 10 if it came from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast.

The tender is seeking price offers both in terms of outright cost per ton and freight included (c&f), or at a higher premium than the Chicago corn contract for May 2026.
