South Korea's NOFI offers to purchase up to 207,000 tonnes of corn

Posted to Maritime Reporter on October 28, 2025

European traders reported on Tuesday that the leading South Korean feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc. has announced an international tender for up to 207,000 tons of animal feed grain.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tender is also Tuesday 28th October.

Three consignments of between 45,000 and 69,000 tons of corn are expected to arrive in South Korea in February 2026.

Importers are concerned about the price rises if U.S. president Donald Trump signs a trade agreement with China in this week. This will allow China to buy large quantities of grain and soya beans from the United States.

The trade war between China and the United States has virtually stopped Chinese purchases of U.S. products.

Around February 5, the first corn shipment was expected to arrive in South Korea.

The shipment must be received between December 29 and February 17, if it is sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, or the U.S. Gulf coast between December 9 and 28, from South America from December 4 to December 24, and from South Africa from December 19 to January 7.

A second shipment is expected to arrive around February 15th.

If the shipment originates from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, it will be between January 8 to January 27. From the U.S. Gulf of Mexico between December 19 and December 7, from South America from December 14 to January 2, and from South Africa from December 29 to January 17.

We expect the third shipment to arrive around February 28.

If the shipment comes from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, it must be between January 21 and Febraury 9, the U.S. Gulf of Mexico between January 1 to January 20, South America between December 27 and January 15, or South Africa between January 11 and 30.

Traders said that they were seeking offers in both outright ton prices c&f as well as a premium on the Chicago corn contract for March 2026.
