South Korea's NOFI purchases approximately 134,000 tons of corn in tender, traders claim

European traders reported that the leading South Korean animal feed manufacturer Nonghyup Feed Inc., (NOFI), bought an estimated 134,000 tons of 'animal feed corn' in a?international?tender on Tuesday. The tender sought up to 207 tons.

According to traders, two consignments each of up 67,000 tons of corn with an optional origin were purchased for arrival in June. The size of the consignments, and therefore the total purchase volume, can vary depending on the origin chosen for supply.

The traders?said that a third consignment of?67,000 tons also sought in the bid?was not purchased.

A consignment of goods was purchased at an estimated price of $243.99 per ton, cost and freight. Plus a $1.50 surcharge for port unloading. The seller was thought to be the trading house 'Mitsui.

The second consignment, which was purchased at the estimated outright price $242.94 per ton (cost and freight) plus a $1.44 surcharge per ton for "additional unloading in port", was also bought. Seller was thought to be trading company?CJ International.
